Palace of Culture and Sports
Palace of Culture and Sports in Varna is multifunctional complex for congress, cultural and sporting events. It has 6 multi-purpose halls, recreation centre, fitness centre, press centre, a modern shopping centre.
Congress Hall can be converted to the playing field (with dimensions 50h25m. And 15 meters in height) with an electronic scoreboard for recording real playing time and performance.
Complex Mladost is composed of 5 separate rooms, suitable for training. It has soundproofed and electronic-controlled curtains.Adjacent to the hall is the Palace Press. It is suitable for press conferences, analysis and parsing of sports meetings and training.
The complex also has two gyms, equipped with modern training equipment. Sports and recreation centre is furnished with equipment necessary for full recovery (saunas, jet) and rehabilitation of athletes, as well as electrotherapy and physiotherapy.
Palace of Culture and Sports has a large shopping centre, offering opportunities for recreation and pleasant leisure.
Even Varna is not recognized as major international sport centre by foreign visitors, the city has hosted 25 world championships, 6 world and one Olympic qualifications. Moreover, the city has shown its hospitality to the participants in 35 European championships, 11 Euro qualifications and 14 Balkan championships. The "Summer Capital of Bulgaria" is annual host of different national, European and international tournaments. For example, the women volleyball and sports gymnastic tournaments are ones of the oldest sport competitions in Europe. Due to the unique atmosphere, the Bulgarian national team plays its preliminary matches of the World Volleyball League in Varna.
